Caffyn Kelley is a multidisciplinary artist and
writer whose work in various media is united by a concern for social
issues and community process. In the 1980's she worked as the editor
and publisher of Gallerie, a journal of women artists. More
recently, she has developed a body of work around the concept of
“mapping” home and nature, with large-scale public projects in
Vancouver that link art with environmental concerns. She is a passionate local activist who serves
on the board of several organizations. She is a founding member of
Gays and Lesbians of Salt
Spring Island (GLOSSI) and the
Islands Institute of
Interdisciplinary Studies, where she is currently helping to
create transformative educational programs.
